In the United States, the CDC estimates that 100,000 Americans have sickle cell disease (SCD). About 90% of people with SCD are of African descent. SCD also occurs in Hispanic, South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Southern European ancestry. Join the Ian Burkhart Foundation for a night of Topgolf on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 6 to 9 PM at Topgolf Columbus (Polaris). Funds raised at this event will support our equipment grants to provide tools for the independence of individuals with spinal cord injuries.

The LifeTown Luncheon will feature Derrick Rossi, the co-founder of Moderna, as keynote speaker. Derrick is also currently the CEO of Ohio-based Convelo Therapeutics. The event, taking place from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Sept. 13 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center at 400 N. High St., raises money for LifeTown, which provides life skills for children with disabilities and other services, including a program to prevent substance abuse.
