Nanotech West is the largest microtechnology and nanotechnology user facility at the Ohio State University. In addition to serving the needs of OSU, Nanotech West also hosts a large variety of projects from other academic institutions, industry, and not-for-profit organizations across the USA. Nanotech West is home to, and supported in part by, major research programs at Ohio State, including: The NSF-sponsored Nanotechnology Science and Engineering Center for Affordable Nanoengineering of Polymeric Biomedical Devices, The Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization, The OSU Institute for Materials Research, and The Wright Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices. In addition to already extensive equipment capabilities, Nanotech West now operates a new field-emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), an atomic layer deposition (ALD) tool, and a metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) tool. User research and development projects include MEMS/NEMS, electro-optics, electronics, photovoltaics, advanced materials, and the fabrication of micro- and nanostructures for research in physics and chemistry.
