This device will detect pathogens such as anthrax or MRSA in as little as 10 to 15 minutes. Applications of this real-time testing platform could extend past the healthcare industry, and into the homeland security, food service and other markets. NanoDetection's biochip is a patented microchip biosensor, based on multiple phototransistor integrated circuits, that detects light (fluorescence or luminescence) emitted as a result of a chemical reaction caused by DNA hybridization or an antibody/antigen pairing.
