Lambda Technologies (Lambda Research, Inc.) specializes in materials research and surface enhancement technologies, for many applications including medical implants. Lambda's Low Plasticity Burnishing (LPB) processing and related surface treatments can be used to improve performance, reduce maintenance costs, and allow unique material substitutions. Lambda's laboratory services include residual stress measurement, surface integrity, preferred orientation, retained Austenite measurement through X-ray diffraction, phase analysis, and quality assurance. Lambda Research & Engineering incorporates emerging and existing technologies to provide customers with a solution to damage mechanisms in metallic components. Through surface enhancement process design, Lambda R&E develops compressive residual stress fields to mitigate high cycle fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, low cycle fatigue, fretting fatigue, corrosion fatigue, foreign object damage, and corrosion pitting. Analytical capabilities include finite element analysis, fatigue design diagram, linear elastic fracture mechanics, failure analysis, and modal analysis.
