Agricultural BiotechnologyDescription
Emerald BioEnergy is a part of the Renergy company, a renewable energy company focused on reducing overall carbon emissions through responsible and sustainable use of bio energy. Founded in 2009 by third generation farmers, Renergy (formerly Ringler Energy) was created with a specific goal in mind: to turn a liability (waste) into a resource (energy) while impacting the environment in a positive way. Renergy provides organic waste management solutions, both regionally and nationally, to companies looking to achieve zero waste goals. Utilizing a process known as Anaerobic Digestion (AD), residual food, industrial, municipal and agricultural waste is repurposed to create renewable electricity and renewable natural gas (RNG), soil nutrients and reclaimed water. Renergy currently operates two Ohio bioenergy facilities located in Cardington (Emerald BioEnergy) and Fairborn (Dovetail Energy).
