COLUMBUS, Ohio (August 28, 2023) — Ohio Life Sciences (OLS), the state association advancing and advocating for the common interests of Ohio’s life sciences community, today announced a new program to provide life science leaders with business training and mentorship opportunities to help them grow their companies in Ohio.
The OLS Entrepreneur Workshop Series, a monthly seminar program for executives and senior leadership at life sciences companies across Ohio, will offer training designed to encourage entrepreneurship and business development skills. Those who participate in the program will also have access to seasoned business executives for ongoing support.
“Our member investors have described a need for a program like this that can support development-stage companies, their leadership teams, and aspiring entrepreneurs as they execute their strategic plans and areas of focus, in the life sciences here in Ohio,” said Eddie Pauline, president and CEO of OLS. “This is really designed for senior leaders at life sciences companies, to help them further refine their skills and build even stronger business acumen.”
With a particular focus on CEOs and executive leadership of early-stage companies, the OLS Entrepreneur Workshop Series is open to OLS member companies or their leaders, Entrepreneur/CEO in Residence candidates, and senior level personnel at established life science companies. The program will cover topics including intellectual property protection, organizational development, navigating the regulatory process and financing a startup. OLS is also in discussions with academic partners to create for-credit learning opportunities for life science leaders.
“The OLS Entrepreneur Workshop Series will provide additional instruction, engagement and training for senior leadership, CEOs and executives at Ohio’s life sciences companies as they move their research forward into the commercial space,” said Jon Snyder, managing director of investor relations at OLS. “This program will help them build the skills needed to move their discoveries forward.”
The OLS Entrepreneur Workshop Series is part of a broader workforce development strategy the association has underway to help build the skilled workforce needed to meet the demands of Ohio’s growing life sciences industry.
“OLS is committed to investing in Ohio’s life sciences ecosystem, and that includes investing in the leaders who will shape this industry in the years to come,” Pauline said.
