Oakwood Laboratories, LLC is a pharmaceutical development company specializing in the application of injectable modified release technology to post-proof-of-concept pharmaceutical products. Oakwood’s Chroniject platform is a polymer microsphere system for the sustained release of injectable drugs. The Chroniject process features: delivery of drugs for periods of ten days to one year, scalability from 5 grams to 5 kilograms, aseptic processing, lot to lot reproducibility, efficient drug encapsulation in polymers. Encapsulation capabilities include water and oil small molecules, peptides and selected proteins. Oakwood’s sustained release microsphere products achieve long term stability, ready reconstitution with water for injection, and syringeability through small bore needles (up to 27 ga). Current and future product applications are for the treatment of prostate cancer, acromegaly, and schizophrenia, as well as products for cosmetic use. The Bedford, OH location is the corporate headquarters.
