The Dayton Development Coalition works to promote prosperity and expansion within the Dayton region in Southwest Ohio. The area is a diverse mixture of cultures, experience, people and places. Dayton’s community has many assets, including universities, businesses, and a skilled, diverse workforce. Dayton’s business strengths are in Information Technology, Aerospace Research and Development, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing as well as Human Sciences and Healthcare. Accelerant is a public-private seed-stage investor whose mission is to strengthen the regional economy by driving talent and capital into scalable technology companies in Western Ohio. An initiative of the Dayton Development Coalition, Accelerant has a team of experts to help start-up technology companies with seed funding, business and financial guidance, and business plan strategy. With assistance to dozens of start-up companies and investments through the Dayton Region Signature Fund in 34 new start-up businesses, the fund has had 10 successful graduates in the portfolio since its inception in September 2007. Accelerant is currently closing its new fund, Accelerant Fund I. The program is making a significant difference in the Dayton Region.
