Columbus Nanoworks, with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Institute of Health, is developing biomedical and quantum sensing technologies for rapid, accurate detection of chemical and biochemical targets down to the single molecule level. Employing diamond magnetometry, the sensors will provide real-time results to deliver up-to-the-minute monitoring of physiological biomarkers of performance, endurance, stress, and other physiologically relevant data. Utility of the sensors is being expanded to the detection and treatment of cancer, and to real-time environmental monitoring for chemical and biological hazards.
