MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network) operates to support, educate and champion manufacturing with the goal of transforming the region’s economy into a powerful, global player. MAGNET serves as the voice of manufacturing, advocating for manufacturers in dealing with the multitude of regulatory agencies at the local and regional level and in influencing public policy. The group encourages manufacturers to adopt the most modern manufacturing strategies and techniques. MAGNET provides a clearinghouse for individual manufacturers seeking assistance in the areas of productivity improvement, global access (sourcing and markets), and product innovation. MAGNET provides a focal point for working with regional educational institutions to provide a comprehensive set of offerings meeting the needs of manufacturing companies. The group also maintains, through a separate operating unit, direct consulting services, manages a business incubator, and conducts contract research for government agencies, such as the Department of Defense. MAGNET is an Ohio Edison Technology Center.
